Churches – sacred architecture
The lack of permanent settlement in the Middle Ages and later years in the Miedzichowo commune contributed to a relatively small number of monuments in this area. However, when it comes to architecture, apart from the remains of the Olęder settlement, it is also worth seeing churches not only in the commune, but also a bit further. A trip on the trail of sacred architecture allows you to get to know different styles – from baroque to neoclassicism and the present day.
Church of st. Stanisław Biskupa in Miedzichów (4 km from agritourism) – a parish church established in 1906, initially as a Protestant church, transformed in 1945 into a Catholic church. In the aisle of the church continuously for over 70 years there is a painting of Our Lady of Częstochowa, painted by one of the prisoners of the German concentration camp in Dachau.
Church of Christ the King in Bolewice (15 km from agritourism) – was built in the 1930s according to the design of Marian Andrzejewski, a recognized Polish architect and engineer, professor of the Poznań University of Technology.
Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland in Jastrzębsk Stary (23 km from agritourism) – the temple in the neo-Gothic style was built in 1914. The village has a typical scattered Olęder architecture, which is also part of the location of the church.
Churches in Lwówek (20 km from agritourism) – there are three churches in the village: the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption comes from the late Gothic period – from the second half of the XV century, the Evangelical church from 1778, currently closed, and the Holy Cross Cemetery Church from 1780.
Church of st. Lawrence in Łomnica (20 km from agritourism) – the building dates back to the second half of the The eighteenth century. In addition to the interesting architecture, tourists can also see the rich furnishings of the church from the baroque period, incl. organs, altars, pulpit, confessionals and paintings. The historic belfry and gate come from the 18th century.
Churches in Nowy Tomyśl (20 km from agritourism) – there are two churches in the city: the post-Evangelical Church of Of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from 1779 in the Baroque-Classicist style and the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help from 1895 in the neo-Romanesque style, designed by Michał Preisler. The rectory comes from the beginning of the 20th century.
Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Assumption in Zbąszyń (28 km from agritourism) – a late Baroque church, completed in 1796. Next to it, there are two sculptures of bishops, a rectory and a cemetery also from the end of the 18th century. The church towers have retained their baroque appearance to this day.
Church of Andrzej Bobola in Sątopy (28 km from agritourism) – a post-Evangelical temple from 1908.
Church of st. Andrew the Apostle in Brody (30 km from agritourism) – an age-old building, built in 1673, the largest wooden temple in the entire Archdiocese of Poznań. Next to it, there is a wooden belfry from 1943: one bell comes from the 15th century and the other from the first half of the 19th century. The eighteenth century. There is also a monument commemorating the victims of the First World War nearby.
St. Martin in Bukowiec (30 km from agritourism) – built in 1737, wooden. Inside, there are four baroque altars, and next to the church, a cross from 1635 and a commemorative stone on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the village.
